Barbara Rose Brooker, is a native San Francisco author, journalist, performer, and teacher. Barbara Rose Brooker has published fiction and twelve books with Morrow, Crossing and recently Simon & Schuster. She has a Masters in creative writing and teaches regularly at San Francisco State University OLLI, Book Passage (Corte Madera), SF Writer's Conference, and at her private seminars. She writes, Boomer In The City, a column on dating after sixty, for the SFJWEEKLY, The Huffington Post, and on her blog.
She is the founder of the first Age March in history. She has given three age marches and plans on taking her march globally to celebrate our real age, promote age pride, and protest ageism. It is a celebration of who we are and not our number, it's for every age. She is an activist for human rights and also feels that ageism is a leading cause of discrimination. Brooker believes that creativity stays in our soul and grows no matter what age we are. "Creativity and love are the essence of life here and beyond...hereafter."
Her novel, The Viagra Diaries, is in the process of being made into a TV series. It is published in eleven countries and is on audio. Her latest novel, The Rise and Fall of a Jewish American Princess, is being considered for a film option.
